The Barn at Stratford offers our congratulations to the happy couple who invited 160 friends and family to celebrate their beautiful barn wedding in our historic house, barn and grounds.
A Barn Wedding Celebration
Family and Friends entered The Barn at Stratford to a welcome station with a registration book and a convenient place to leave cards and gifts. The shelves above the table display mementos of the soon to be wedded couple.
Music filled the air calling everyone to gather on the lush lawn, fitted with hay bale seating, to join the bridal party in the wedding ceremony. After the ceremony, the guests proceeded into the Barn’s Gallery to await the bridal party’s grand entrance. As music played, the DJ/MC introduced the bride’s maids and best men to the assembly. Finally the grand entrance of the new couple completed the head table on the elevated stage.
A buffet dinner was served with traditional American fare while the music continued fill the air. After the meal, some tables were removed to open up a dance floor and the DJ brought out the new couple to start the dancing which lasted into the evening.
Very, very happy experience working with Connie Hoffman and Mike to pull off our daughter’s wedding. The bride’s room in the Meeker House is perfect. Very happy with condition of barn and grounds. Did anyone notice Larry Evan’s Model A 1939 John Deere he so obligingly provided? Peirsol Farms of Delaware County and Crawford Farms of Lawrence County wish to thank the DCHS for opening this much needed venue. – Deb Piersol on Facebook
